Speech Evaluation

While watching my presentation, I was able to verify the things I thought I did wrong during my speech, which are also the things that I feared the most. I noticed that I was not comfortable with the topic, because, while conducting the speech, I would constantly stray off topic and what my main focus should be. I saw that I was trying to remember a speech, rather than explaining details about myself. I also remained in the same monotonic speech throughout the entire presentation. Although, I did not constantly keep moving nor remain in one spot, I lacked in some nonverbal aspects of my speech. Next time, I will work towards remembering what nonverbal actions to do, rather than my actual speech. Because with the time I am given to write and remember the speech, I would be better off going up there and comfortably talking about my topic, than attempting to cram and remember what I wrote on paper. I will also practice my speech in front of other friends in order to simulate the environment in which I will be presenting in. I will also remember to focus on the topic that is presented to the class, rather than go off and say what I feel.
